Is it safe to use glass cleaner (Windex ect…) on silver plated objects?

Does windex harm any metals is sort of what I am asking. I’ve used it to clean almost everything in kitchens without thinking very much about it. I was wondering about on plated objects, like instruments and the trim on some things. It says not to use it on brass, wood, copper, or pewter (tin/antimony/copper) and to test it first.

I don’t think that it isn’t the smartest thing to clean silver plated things with. A good alternative is toothpaste. Toothpaste works great on silver, copper, and gold.
