Antique Glass – what is the difference between “cut glass” and “pressed glass”?
I have a few pieces I might enter in classes at a fair, including a pair of salts, but I don’t want to enter in the wrong classes. Thanks for any help!
i believe “cut” glass has the designs etched by hand using a grinding wheel.
“pressed” glass is molded with forms while the glass is hot and has smoother edges on the designs.
